"Jessica and I spent a lot of time talking about altered perspectives and how to blur the line between reality and projected reality. She wanted the film to drift between moments of tangible clarity and complete disorientation, mirroring the emotional state Cara describes in her songs. The transition from the sky into the crash reflected in the puddle and the realization that the world isn't exactly what you think it is became one of the most challenging scene of the film. It took us a while to figure out how to make that shot/transition feel seamless. Those kinds of perspective shifts became a guiding principle throughout the project but that one was a perceptual puzzle." Christophe Collette, cinematographer
