Cairo Express

"To be honest, the most challenging part wasn't technical at all—it was finding the right idea that could hold the entire project together. With so many scenes, characters, and seemingly random moments, I kept questioning how I could fit everything into one music video while making it feel intentional and exciting. I wanted the audience to feel like they were going on a trip, constantly surprised by what comes next. I also wanted to take a fictional approach to the Middle East, which isn't something we see very often, and explore a world that feels surreal, playful, and a little absurd. At one point I even thought about creating a deeper reason behind all the randomness, but I realized the beauty of Cairo Express is that the reason doesn't have to be that serious. The challenge was embracing the chaos, making it all work together, and solving problems along the way which, honestly, is the part I love most." CHNDY, director
