No Misery

"It was my first time filming in Tokyo, and I wanted to take full advantage of the city by shooting across as many locations as possible. As soon as I landed, we had to move fast. With the shoot scheduled for the very next day, we spent over 12 hours scouting locations and making quick decisions. Many of the spots, including Shinjuku, were public spaces, and with Future being recognized almost instantly, we had to be smart and efficient with every move. Mike Koziel and I planned everything in advance to capture as many shots as possible within 10–15 minutes at each public location. On the way home, Japanese TSA manually inspected every single roll of film. We had to open every can for them to check each roll. Thankfully, they handled everything professionally, and the film made it safely to FotoKem in Los Angeles, where it was processed beautifully." Loris Russier, director
