“Greg and I committed to shooting most the film in Open Gate LF using a 21mm Signature Prime, so we needed a simple but effective approach to light large portions of the exterior set to maintain natural colors and contrast ratios. For anyone who isn’t familiar with Manchester in the UK, it tends to be a bit rainy, so you can imagine our surprise when arriving on location in April we were graced with a heatwave and a full day of sunshine. We lit the commercial almost entirely with one 20’ x 20’ 1/4 silk frame, either diffusing the sun into a backlight/key or bouncing the sun for fill.” - Aidan Bryan, cinematographer
