“The challenge was to make a tourism film that never felt like tourism—to let culture become its guiding thread, so that those who call Catalonia home could recognize themselves in it, while those discovering it from afar could feel moved by it. Rather than creating a catalogue of landmarks, we built a narrative in which different layers of Catalan culture overlap and speak to one another: recognizable icons, symbols, traditions and different expressions of a shared identity. Shooting on 16mm gave it the visual coherence and tactile quality we were looking for: something imperfect, immediate and real—less like a postcard, more like a memory.” Max Larruy, director
