"The challenge with this spot was committing to the super high-contrast, street photography style that Silence had in mind. We had a single day to shoot and we were on an exterior location in London city. This meant large machinery was not possible and we were going to be at the mercy of the weather. We wanted to control the shape and quality of the light ourselves and create intense fragments of 'sun' that keyed just the right parts of the storytelling. To do this we had to carefully plan around the sun path and shoot in the shade, using large film heads and mirrors so that we had a fighting chance against the real sun and could create a really high contrast ratio with the ambient light as fill.
