The hardest part was finding the balance between Japanese cultural aesthetics and phonk music. They’re so different - one’s calm and ritualistic, the other raw and urban. I wanted to merge those worlds and give it the tension of a Yakuza-style thriller, so it feels cinematic rather than like a typical ad.
